The big-screen Green Lantern was sort of a disappointment, underperforming at the box office and, well, in the hearts and minds of audiences everywhere. But don't think you've seen the last of Hal Jordan and that snazzy ring.
Apparently, even though Warner Bros. was "somewhat disappointed" with the way the film performed, Ryan Reynolds will get another shot at portraying the DC Comics superhero.
Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution for Warner Bros., tried to put a spin on the less-than-stellar box office by pointing out that fanboy films often experience drop-offs after opening weekends, neglecting to mention that while Green Lantern took a 66 percent tumble, Thor and X-Men: First Class dropped only 47 percent and 56 percent, respectively.
But none of that is stopping the studio from moviing ahead with a second Green Lantern pic.
What do you think? Good idea or bad? Would you return to the theater to see what happens next?
