Grown-up Spy Kid joins Tomorrow People as sexy new super-agent

The CW’s new sci-fi series Tomorrow People is looking to add a sexy new super-powered agent, and they’re apparently recruiting from the Spy Kids.

The series has tapped Alexa Vega, most recently seen showing off a more grown-up look in Machete Kills, to play new ULTRA agent Hillary Cole. Zap2It described the character as a “ruthless, paranormal version of Tracy Flick” (Reese Witherspoon’s character in the flick Election). Weird, but okay.

But the character could have a major impact on the series. She will apparently become a rival to Stephen (Robbie Amell), which could be a problem, because the company plans to strip the powers of whichever agent doesn’t come out ahead during training. Uh-oh.

Considering the series is still trying to find its feet, here’s hoping the addition of Vega can provide a spark to the freshman drama. What do you think? Good move?

The Tomorrow People airs Wednesdays on The CW.
