UPDATE: According to a report at Deadline, the episode leak is not actually part of this week’s HBO hack. Rather, sources claim the leaked episode comes via an Indian distributor called Star. Our original report follow below:

Earlier this week, HBO was hacked, with the cyberpirates promising to release episodes of Game of Thrones, Ballers, Room 104, and Insecure, as well as a bunch of documents — including scripts. Today, those threats became real, and the hackers have leaked the fourth episode of Thrones' Season 7.

According to Engadget, the upcoming episode titled “The Spoils of War” was shared on the Interwebs via a Google Drive link, and the site confirmed that it’s apparently legit.

With Game of Thrones being a global hit, as well as being the No. 1 show when it comes to being pirated online anyway, it’s easy to see why the hackers targeted HBO’s critically acclaimed fantasy series and prized possession. It's a shame, because c'mon, HBO spends a whole lot of cash to produce this show. If fans want great fantasy, they have to support it — the right way.

Of course, this is not the first time Game of Thrones episodes have leaked. Back in 2014, the first four episodes of Season 5 found their merry way online, prompting HBO to stop releasing screeners of the series to members of the media.
