Director Bryan Singer might be playing coy about Halle Berry’s role in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but the actress seems to be a lot more forthcoming about the odds of her return.
Berry, who played Storm in the first three X-Men movies, recently sat down with Shadow and Act. During the interview she was asked about all the speculation surrounding her potential return, and seemed a lot more confident about it than Singer has let on.
Here’s an excerpt:
She did confirm to me that she would be returning in the role. Most likely. Practically 90% sure. And she nodded a lot too. I can’t say, and neither could she say that it’s definitely a done deal, and that the contracts have all been signed, with all the “i”s dotted and the “t”s crossed.
She told me that are a few details that are still being negotiated which she couldn’t get into. But since she did tell me that the film starts shooting in April, it’s highly unlikely that talks are going to suddenly and horribly fall apart at this point.
It makes sense that Berry would be back in some capacity, considering she’s been a main member of the team for three films (and took over Xavier’s school after his apparent death in The Last Stand).
But with Singer apparently making some changes to the canon via the nifty trick of time travel, it makes sense that he may or may not want to bring back everyone from the previous films.
Are you glad to hear that Berry should be back, or do you want Singer to leave her in the clouds?
