We finally have some (sparse) details about Solo: A Star Wars Story, the Han Solo origin story quietly coming out on May 25 with nary a trailer in sight. The plot won’t just be the origins of Solo, but of his friendship with furry series mainstay Chewbacca the Wookiee.

A Disney press kit covering its releases for this year includes a plot description for Solo, which is more than the secretive and reshot film has had public so far.

Accompanying a logo but no still images from the film, the synopsis reads: “Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.”

This could be a work rewriting what once was canon, as Solo and Chewie’s meeting was documented in the comic Star Wars: Chewbacca. This story featured Imperial pilot Solo refusing to kill and skin Chewie as the last remaining survivor on his ship. This life debt only grew into a loyal friendship once Solo exited the regime’s service.

Han and Chewbacca’s comic book past could be totally glossed over, changed, or followed to the word - the only thing we know for certain is we’ll see the moment these two iconic Star Wars characters (played by Alden Ehrenreich and Joonas Suotamo in the new film) meet.
