Puppets, garden gnomes, dinosaurs, and even the great Sherlock Holmes were not spared by the nominations for the 39th Razzie Awards, aka the anti-Oscars, which were announced this very morning. So, which films from 2018 are vying for the title of "Worst"?

The Happytime Murders and Holmes & Watson are neck and neck, with six nominations each in categories like Worst Picture, Worst Actress, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Combo, and Worst Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel.

Happytime was directed by Jim Henson's son, Brian, and is a Roger Rabbit-esque noir/comedy mashup set in a universe where humans exist alongside sentient felt puppets. Directed by Etan Cohen (Get Hard), Holmes stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly and is meant to be a humorous take on the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Both were critical and financial flops. In particular, Holmes & Watson was so bad that not even Netflix wanted a part of it, and that's saying something!

Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built is in second place with four nominations, a hopeful for Worst Picture, Worst Actress (Helen Mirren), Worst Director (the Spierig Brothers), and Worst Screenplay (Tom Vaughan and the Spierig Brothers).

Robin Hood follows with three nods: Worst Picture, Worst Supporting Actor (Jamie Foxx), and Worst Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel. Sherlock Gnomes snagged two nominations, for Worst Actor (Johnny Depp) and Worst Onscreen Combo (Johnny Depp & His Fast-Fading Film Career).

Other genre contenders include: The Meg (Worst Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (Worst Supporting Actor, Justice Smith), and Slender Man (Worst Supporting Actress, Jazz Sinclair).

The winners of the 39th Annual Golden Raspberry Awards will be announced Sunday, February 23, a day before the 91st Academy Awards are held in Los Angeles.
