With all the buzz about the original cast coming back for Star Wars: Episode VII, we still donât actually have any official confirmation. But now Han Solo himself has addressed all the rumors.
In an interview with WGN, Harrison Ford was asked about his potential return as everyoneâs favorite smuggler with a heart of gold. He wouldnât completely confirm his return, but letâs just say if youâre âlooking forwardâ to something, itâs pretty likely youâll be doing it.
Hereâs his comment:
âI think itâs almost true. Iâm looking forward to it. Itâs not in the bag yet, but I think itâs happening.â
Itâs nice to see the cast actually tackle the rumors now, as opposed to reports from the Lucasfilm side saying itâs going to happen. Iâm sure George Lucas is in the loop, but itâs nice to hear it from Ford that he really is interested.
Combine this story with the recent comments from Carrie Fisher, and all we need is Mark Hamill to open up and weâll know the trio is essentially covered. This news makes it a near-certainty that the sequel will focus on the younger generation of Solos and Skywalkers as previously rumored, and having the old gang back together is a perfect way to pass the torch.
Are you glad to hear that Han Solo will be back kicking ass and taking names in a few years?
