Hayden Christensen is trading in his Jedi robe for a backdrop more akin to Blade Runner in his latest sci-fi project, Numb, at the Edge of the End.
The sci-fi thriller looks a bit trippy, and follows Christensen’s Tov Matheson, a veteran with PTSD who believes the world is about to end. He starts to build a shelter to prepare, and then some mysterious things happen, and … yeah, that’s about all we know. Christensen is joined by Harvey Keitel, who plays a shady gentleman named the Messiah. The film is directed by documentary filmmaker Rodrigo H. Vila.
It’s hard to get a read on the plot from the trailer here, though it certainly looks stylized, with heavy doses of Blade Runner and Snowpiercer thrown in for good measure (along with some F-bombs, so don’t watch this cranked up at work). Christensen’s had a tough go at things since the Star Wars prequel trilogy, so here’s hoping this one gets him back into the good graces of sci-fi fans.
No word yet on a U.S. distribution deal, though it stands to reason it’ll make its way over here at some point this year.
