Right before Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant assaults our senses on May 19, HBO will air a 13-minute special revealing some of the film's more intimate, behind-the-scenes production secrets.

A new promo for the show gives us some tasty new footage of an intimidating xenomorph drone getting a quick touchup, a frightful look down the gullet of a mouthy Neomorph, a scuttling Facehugger puppet, film crews on the Citadel massacre set and a landing craft on a tilting hydraulic gimbal. HBO First Look: Alien Covenant unspools on Wednesday, May 10th at 9:45pm EST.
