Hot on the heels of the first teaser poster for Season 7 of Game of Thrones, HBO has now officially revealed the date of the show's hotly anticipated return. They've also released a first official teaser.

Game of Thrones star Liam Cunningham (who plays Davos Seaworth on the show) was right on the money when he said he'd heard the fantasy series would return sometime in July ...

Okay, the seventh season of the Emmy-winning fantasy series based on George R.R. Martin’s epic "A Song of Ice and Fire" book saga will premiere on July 16, which is the Sunday before San Diego Comic-Con. I'm trying to stay cool, calm and collected, but I may be failing miserably.

So mark your calendars and set up your Google Alerts for JULY 16 at 9 p.m. on HBO.

The seven-episode seventh season will see the return of your favorite GoT characters, including Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Cersei (Lena Headey), Dany (Emilia Clarke), Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), Jon (Kit Harington), Sansa (Sophie Turner), Arya (Maisie Williams), Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright), Theon (Alfie Allen), Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) and more.
