Despite delays and production stalls, HBO is still hard at work on its ambitious adaptation of Westworld. In case you needed a reminder, the network has dropped a creepily fantastic new trailer for the new 10-episode series.

The footage here takes up behind the scenes of the western world, where the high-tech underpinnings blur into big questions about artificial intelligence, sentience and the evolution of sin. Delays and retooling be damned, this series really does look fantastic. Here’s hoping J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Nolan can actually pull it off. The world looks huge, and this could be the perfect marriage of western and sci-fi we’ve been jonesing for the past decade or so.

The network has assembled an all-star cast to bring the adaptation of Michael Crichton’s 1973 film to life, including Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs), James Marsden (X-Men), Jeffrey Wright (Boardwalk Empire), Thandie Newton (Rogue), Evan Rachel Wood (Once and Again) and Ed Harris (The Rock).

The series is set to debut October 2016.
