The power of rock is harnessed to battle evil interdimensional monsters bent on enslaving the world in a headbanging new series from Image/Skybound titled, Murder Falcon.

Launching this week to a roar of raucous applause, flickering lighters, and devil horn salutes raised high, it's a guitar-shredding good time written, drawn, and inked by Daniel Warren Johnson with retro colors from Mike Spicer, all guaranteed to make your ears bleed with the awesome notes of its heavy metal roots.

Johnson rocketed to instant recognition with his killer Eisner-nominated sci-fi series for Image, Extremity, and here he's tapped into his love of hard rock, wailing guitars, and crazy creatures. Witness Skybound's wicked-cool motion comic promo and just try to sit still:

The storyline finds our planet under attack by monsters called The Veldar, orchestrated by the King of All Hatred and Fear, Magnum Khaos. Our hero Jake’s life is falling apart and he sees no future on the horizon, with no band and no girl, until he meets the avenging angel, Murder Falcon, sent from The Heavy to destroy all evil, and empowered by ear-splitting power chords from Jake's resurrected electric guitar. With every radical riff from Jake's axe, the power of metal music fuels Murder Falcon into a chaotic kung fu fury on those invaders that attempt to conquer Earth.

Murder Falcon will also present special monthly variant covers honoring famous heavy metal album covers for iconic bands like Judas Priest and possibly Motley Crue, Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, and more.

“Music is something that brings me a lot of joy, and it was my goal to translate that into images, thus bringing Murder Falcon into the world," Johnson told SYFY WIRE. "It's a super combo of all the things I love, kung fu, beer, having fun, playing music, and I'm so excited to share it with you all.”
