The last place I wanna be hovering over a prehistoric island in is a wobbly military whirly-bird with Samuel L. Jackson looking on horrified from the ground, mouth agape, at a ginormous bloody handprint.

Check out this latest Japanese trailer for director Jordan Vogt-Roberts' (The Kings of Summer) Kong: Skull Island, showcasing the biggest, baddest ape ever displayed on screen as Kong plays paddleball with a lethal pack of commando helicopters when they invade his fog-shrouded territory, and tell us if you're going ape over this enormous King Kong spectacle for next year.

Here's the official synopsis

Kong: Skull Island reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

Starring Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly and Samuel L. Jackson, Warner Bros.' Kong: Skull Island slams into theaters March 10, 2017.
