The Hellboy saga might have ended, but that doesn’t mean they can’t fill in some gaps with a few long lost adventures, right?

Paste Magazine reports Dark Horse is gearing up to publish the new graphic novel Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea on May 2, 2017. The story will be set after the 2005 story arc “The Island,” which was written and illustrated by creator Mike Mignola. The new high-seas-set story will be co-written by Mignola and Gary Gianni (with Gianni providing the art).

Here’s what Gianni had to say about the project:

“I imagine if Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea were a movie, the Hollywood hyperbole would describe it as Hellboy’s greatest adventure. Yes … it’s Hellboy as you’ve never seen him before, laughing, loving and battling his way across the stormy seas! You’ll be thrilled as he faces cosmic forces terrorizing a haunted shipped manned by a desperate crew!”

Though Mignola’s main Hellboy journey might be over, it’s great to see fans will still be able to follow along with some new adventures — and that Mignola will still have a hand in the proceedings for quality control. We might know how it all ends, but that doesn't mean we can't still have some fun along the way.

Are you glad Hellboy will be making a reprieve?
