What do Marvel's Thor and HBO's hit series Game of Thrones have in common? Hopefully a lot more very soon, at least according to Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth.

In an interview with MTV, Hemsworth said he believes the recent addition of Game of Thrones co-creator Alan Taylor to the team developing the Thor sequel will be a good move, and he hopes it will bring along the mystical realism vibe that Thrones captures so well.

"[Game of Thrones] had a real mythical element to it, but it was rooted in such an organic and tangible world. I think Asgard could really benefit from that sort of a grittier, aged feel to it and not so ethereal," he said. "The big thing about the comics for me was the origin story. Thor was interesting, but what I found more fascinating was the other worlds and realms that you can be taken off into."

Sound off: Do you think Marvel would benefit from mixing in a "grittier" take on Asgard?
