The X-Force pieces are starting to come together for the Merc With a Mouth as casting heats up for Deadpool 2.

The latest casting rumors for the movie concern Domino (aka Neena Thurman), the mutant mercenary whose skills include enhanced reflexes, sharply honed fighting skills and extraordinary marksmanship. She also possesses subconscious probability-altering powers -- the ability to initiate random telekinetic acts that affect probability in her favor (i.e. give her incredible "good luck") as long as she is participating or taking action in a way that she can affect the outcome.

And according to Collider (via Slashfilm), there are a whole slew of actresses who want to bring her to life on the big screen. Six are known to be up for the role, including Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane), Lizzy Caplan (Now You See Me 2), Sienna Miller (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre) and Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049).

All six women have tested for the role or will, and additional names could enter the picture as well. Of the six, Miller, Winstead and Caplan are probably the best known, but Boutella also has Kingsman: The Secret Service on her resume and is playing the title role opposite Tom Cruise in the upcoming The Mummy.

The other intriguing thing about Domino is that in the comics, she is a member of X-Force alongside Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Cable, and with Cable also slated to show up in Deadpool 2 (Liam Neeson and Kyle Chandler have been floated for the part), the movie might well give us the origin of the X-Force in one spectacular package. Deadpool 2 is supposed to start shooting next year for a yet-to-be-determined release date, but as the start of production inches closer I'm sure we'll see director Tim Miller lock down casting for both Domino and Cable.

Who do you think should play Domino? Any of the names above ring the bell for you?
