Not content to own the horror comic genre with The Walking Dead and Outcast, Robert Kirkman is getting up to launch another new series: Demonic.
The series was created by Kirkman and Marc Silvestri, and is being written by Eisner-nominated Chris Sebela (High Crimes), with art from Niko Walter. The series itself focuses on a cop named Scott Graves who will do anything to protect his family — even cut a deal for his own soul. The run is described as a “supernatural horror comic,” which sounds right in Kirkman’s wheelhouse.
“Demonic is a bloody, bloody horror book about a New York City cop who has a demon living inside him, and he has to figure out how to survive and keep his family alive, while trying to keep this thing inside him from killing everybody in the city of New York,” Silvestri said. “There’s a lot of blood and guts, but also a lot of, sort of, mental horror.”
The series is being published by Image Comics/Skybound, and the first issue is set to hit comic store shelves on Aug. 3. Skybound debuted the first four pages of the series. Check it out below and let us know what you think:
