Disney Parks shed more light on a bunch of its upcoming attractions and resorts this past weekend at D23 Expo Japan, including the immersive Star Wars hotel at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The resort will be connected to the Galaxy's Edge theme park at Disney's Hollywood Studios and promises to be "unlike anything" guests have ever seen.

"This first-of-its-kind resort will combine luxury with complete immersion into an authentic Star Wars story," goes the Disney Parks official blog. "Guests’ journey through space will start when everyone departs together for a multiday Stars Wars adventure by boarding a starship alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during a voyage through the galaxy."

The post also promises that every visitor to the resort will become a "citizen" of the galaxy far, far away, with the chance to dress up in fitting Star Wars "attire." In addition, the window of each room will "have a view into space," but what that means exactly is up for debate at this point. Is it some sort of holographic technology that allows you to switch between the stars of outer space and the sunshine and palm trees of Orlando?

Special, "artisan"-focused toys to be sold at Galaxy's Edge were also teased.

A Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired ride is coming to Epcot in Orlando as well and will be one of the world's longest enclosed roller coasters.

"It’ll feature a unique story currently being created by Walt Disney Imagineering and include a new innovative ride system that’s guaranteed to 'wow' guests," boasts the blog.

According to Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, the Guardians coaster is part of a mission to turn Epcot "into a place that’s more family, more relevant, more timeless and more Disney."

Disneyland Paris is also getting into the comic book game with superhero-themed rooms and galleries at Disney's Hotel New York. Opening in 2020, Disney’s Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel "will showcase the dynamic, inspiring world of Super Heroes including Iron Man, The Avengers, and Spider Man among others." It'll be getting a head start this summer thanks to Marvel Summer of Super Heroes, an event that will include the characters in shows and meet-and-greets.

Summer 2018 also marks the opening of Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park on June 23.

Featuring "neighborhoods" based on beloved Pixar films, Pixar Pier's main attraction will be the Incredicoaster, "a super combination of character figures, lighting, and special effects that will bring the Parr family racing alongside you in a high-speed adventure." The ride's opening is perfect timing, just eight days after the release of Incredibles 2 in theaters. This is around the time that Toy Story Land will open at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone are being added to the “Paint the Night” parade.

Disney's parks in Florida, California, and Shanghai are prepping for Pixar-centric events throughout the spring and summer. In fact, Shanghai Disneyland's Toy Story Land opens on April 26.
