We’ve already heard rumblings that Thor: Ragnarok would borrow elements from the pages of Marvel’s Planet Hulk comic book storyline, and now we have confirmation that it'll indeed be the case.
Straight from San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel has unveiled a first look at the gladiator armor the Jade Giant will wear in the superhero film.
As you can see below, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will sport a Marvel Cinematic Universe variation on the gladiator armor he wore in the Greg Pak, Carlo Pagulayan and Aaron Lopresti comic, complete with a very cool helmet and shoulder pad, as well as a mean-looking ax and hammer. Rumor has it the film will feature an action set piece inspired by Planet Hulk before diving into the Raganarok action.
Marvel Studios has a panel later today in Hall H, so maybe we'll learn more about the props below, and how exactly they plan to integrate some of the Planet Hulk elements into director Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok. Heck, maybe we’ll even get a look at the big guy himself in all his gladiator glory!
Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, and Karl Urban. It will open on Nov. 3, 2017.
