This spring will mark six years since BOOM! Studios began publishing its Planet of the Apes comics. In that time they've given us everything from classic continuity stories to movie tie-ins ... and even delivered a crossover with Star Trek. Now the seemingly infinite storytelling possibilities of this classic sci-fi franchise will be stretched even further as the Apes meet the Green Lantern Corps.

This week BOOM! unveiled a four-page preview for its new crossover series from writer Robbie Thompson and artist Barnaby Bagenda, and it looks just as amazing as it sounds. We've got Cornelius keeping secrets from Zaius, an ancient ring that jumpstarts the whole thing, Green Lanterns battling Red Lanterns and, of course, Guy Gardner crackin' wise. Checkout the official synopsis:

When Taylor goes missing, Cornelius investigates and discovers an ancient ring, unlike anything the universe has ever seen. As its power echoes through the stars, the Guardians of the Universe must reveal to their Lanterns a secret they had hoped would remain buried. With the Green Lantern Corps, led by Hal Jordan, racing to get to the source of this power before Sinestro can get his hands on it, they will discover a truth that will change them forever on …THE PLANET OF THE APES.

Planet of the Apes/Green Lantern #1 arrives Feb. 1. Check out the preview and a planet-load of variant covers below.
