Here's another S.H.I.E.L.D. member in talks to join the TV series

When the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series was announced, everyone wanted to know about Agent Coulson, but he might not be the only one coming back.

No, we're not talking about the guy with the eyepatch, but for those Robin Scherbatsky fans out there, this may comes as a pleasant surprise.  Cobie Smulders, who played Agent Maria Hill in Marvel's The Avengers, says she's not ruling out an appearence in the S.H.I.E.L.D. series currently filming.  The immediate concern, obviously, would be that Smulders' commitment to How I Met Your Mother would leave her with little time for another TV series.  According to her, however, that won't be a problem.

The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don’t affect it, and I can’t really say but there are definite talks about it.

That may sound like hazy-at-best confirmation, but, considering that we already know that Maria Hill will return for Captain America: Winter Soldier, we do know that both the character and the actor are around and still a part of S.H.I.E.L.D.  Marvel is secretive, though, and likely that means Smulders also has to stay mum.  When asked about the script for Winter Soldier, she said, "I’ve seen parts of it, but yeah, I don’t know much. This is Marvel! They don’t let you know anything."

While we have no doubt that's true, it's also just as likely that Smulders has been told to keep any potential plans for her character under wraps.  And considering that Smulders has gone so far as to say, "I will do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it," we'd say the chances we'll see her on S.H.I.E.L.D. are pretty high.
