With the announcement that Iron Man director Jon Favreau will write and produce a new Star Wars series for Disney's upcoming direct-to-consumer platform, it's time to take stock of all the new content coming to the new streaming service. With more and more news making its way online, it's clear that Disney's Netflix rival is going to come out the gate strong.
What seemed an extraneous streaming service is now looking more and more enticing as the House of Mouse continues to sweeten the deal. It won't just be a one-stop shop for all Disney movies, but also for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and, thanks to the recent deal, all of 20th Century Fox's properties (minus Alien, Deadpool and other R-rated titles). Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, and everyone else will have to scrabble for better and more valuable original content in order to stay relevant and competitive as Disney takes a ton of established titles off the table in one fell swoop.
With that said, here's everything we know of that's coming to Disney's own streaming service, which reportedly goes live late next year.
