The CW’s Arrow spinoff is moving quickly to establish its own set of super-powered heroes, and here’s our best look yet at Firestorm’s new suit.

Network alum Robbie Amell, who headlined the short-lived Tomorrow People, signed on a while back to play Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm in a recurring role on The Flash. We’ve already glimpsed him a time or two in the first half of the season, and now we know what his suit will look like once he eventually embraces superhero-dom.

A qualifier: The initial reaction from some fans to this suit seems to be, to put it lightly, a bit disappointed. Firestorm is one of the most superhero-y characters they’ve introduced yet, but his suit is basically a nice hoodie with some random tech gear attached to the front. Admittedly, a bit underwhelming (though the layout is a nice homage to his comic suit).

Check out the costume below, which was glimpsed out in the wild on display at the recent Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour:

Here’s our take: We’ve already seen Firestorm flame on a few times now, so it stands to reason that will be his look while fighting baddies and using his powers. The weird hoodie? Probably something the team at STAR Labs cooks up to help him contain or harness his powers during downtime. So, yeah, let’s not freak out just yet.

What do you think of the suit? Were you expecting something a bit flashier?
