"It's clobberin' time!" Sure, we’ve already had a glimpse of the Thing in Fox’s upcoming Fantastic Four movie -- thanks to that leaked movie banner. But now we have our first official image of the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing (Jamie Bell) doing his Thing thing. Not only that, but we also have an interesting pic of Reed Richards (Miles Teller) undergoing some sort of testing. And if you take a close look at the movie still, you’ll see that our Mr. Fantastic is displaying some impressive stretching powers.

Empire Online scored the three new pics for Fox's upcoming comic-book movie, and as they’ve pointed out, technology has sure come a long way since the days of the first Fantastic Four movie (2005) and its 2007 sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer. At the time, Michel Chiklis had to wear a hot and heavy costume that doesn’t look very convincing anymore, thanks to our 2015 FX sensibilities. The former Ben Grimm compared the experience to "the seventh circle of hell."

But in director Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four, Jamie Bell donned a motion-capture suit (something he'd done before when filming The Adventures of Tintin), which in turn gave him a lot more freedom to actually act the part and imbue our full-on CGI rocky monster with Ben Grimm’s personality. Josh Trank told Empire "Jamie in real life is a tough guy. He exudes this strength. Ben is Reed’s best friend in the archetypal, spiritual way, and you want that character to have that warmth and that strength."

Have a look at the pics below -- the first one features Marvel's First Family sporting their containment suits before their transformation -- and let us know what you think of the Thing’s look. (One note: Eyebrows. The Thing should have eyebrows.Fantastic Four also stars Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Toby Kebbell. The movie will open on Aug. 7, 2015.
