Venom stares back with his milky white eyes in the first teaser poster for the live action movie centered around the antihero/Spider-Man villain. Sony released the poster online ahead of a trailer that arrives tomorrow.

The poster itself is as simplistic as they come, featuring a black background (the color of the alien symbiote and the suit it creates) with the character's eyes along with Tom Hardy's name. The British actor portrays Eddie Brock, the man who plays host to the symbiote that turns him into Venom.

Hardy (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) recently confirmed on Instagram that he had wrapped on all his scenes for the film. He's joined in the extended cast by Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Riz Ahmed and Jenny Slate. The film itself is meant to kick off its own version of a shared Marvel Cinematic Universe over at Sony, something the studio has been keen to launch since back in the Amazing Spider-Man era.

Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) and slated for an October 5 theatrical release.
