20th Century Fox has just given us some serious answers. It's announced the release dates for its biggest upcoming films, including the sequels to Rise of the Planet of the Apes and X-Men: First Class, as well as the 3D re-release of Independence Day.

Thanks to the success of Titanic 3D, Fox is giving Independence Day the same treatment. ID43D will debut in theaters next year on July 3. But let's be honest, isn't the abbreviation ID43D a bit much? It sounds like a code.

In terms of delays, the latest Percy Jackson sequel got bumped from March 15 to Aug. 16, 2013, and Steven Spielberg's long-awaited Robopocalypse has been shifted to April 25, 2014. So we'll have to wait a little bit longer for that one.

The world needs more Caesar, and it's going to get it—in two years. The Rise of the Planet of the Apes follow-up Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has been scheduled for May 23, 2014. And Matthew Vaughn's highly anticipated X-Men: First Class sequel will also debut that summer on July 18.

Here's a rundown of the dates:

  • Independence Day aka ID43D - July 3, 2013
  • Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters - August 16, 2013
  • Robopocalypse - April 25, 2014
  • Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - May 23, 2014
  • Untitled X-Men First Class Sequel - July 18, 2014
