Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman film will be digging deeper than we’ve ever gone into the world of Themyscira, and it turns out another fan favorite super-lady will also be coming to live action.

Jenkins has confirmed female boxer Anne Wolfe will be playing Artemis, who actually shows up on screen in the latest trailer if you look closely. Judging by the context, she seems to be a warrior who trains Diana, and yeah, Wolfe certainly looks the part. You know, because she can actually kick a whole lot of butt.

Looking to the comics, Artemis has been portrayed as a member of a tribe that split off from the Amazons called the Bana-Mighdall. She's teamed up, and butted heads, with Wonder Woman throughout most of her history. If you're looking for a great Artemis story to check out, she's currently co-starring in DC's Red Hood and the Outlaws, which is pretty great.

Wonder Woman opens June 2. Check out Jenkins' announcement below and let us know what you think about the casting.
