We've seen our fair share of footage and images from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice thus far, but what we really hadn't seen yet is how, exactly, this Justice would dawn. Sure, there's been plenty of looks at Batman and Superman sneering at each other, and even some looks at Lex Luthor appearing to be the orchestrator of it all. Now, thanks to a new trailer, we get our first glimpses at heroes working together.
The trailer debuted Wednesday night during Jimmy Kimmel Live, and it begins by keeping up the combativeness, with an opening scene in which Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent face off over how the Daily Planet treats Batman versus how it treats Superman. From there, we get some more fight scenes, and then something becomes very clear: Lex Luthor is orchestrating much, if not all, of this animosity.
Now, before I spoil anything else, check out the trailer:
Yes, it would appear that Luthor used what was left of Michael Shannon's General Zod to craft a creature that looks very much like (and probably is) Doomsday, and that our heroes, including Wonder Woman, will have to work together to defeat it. It's the first time we've seen these characters working together in footage from this film, and what's most exciting is that it seems Wonder Woman is the element that makes it all coalesce. If you ask me, these trailers just keep getting better.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters March 25, 2016.
