Young Chloe Moretz was a breakout star in 2010’s Kick-Ass, and it looks like Hit Girl will have even more to do in the sequel.
A new trailer focuses in on Mindy Macready trying to find her place in high school, but don’t worry, she’ll definitely be kicking her fair share of bad-guy ass as her spunky alter ego.
The first Kick-Ass was a breath of fun fresh air in a room full of dark and gritty comic movies, so let's hope director Jeff Wadlow is able to replicate that perfect blend of insanity that made the first film such a good time. If they can ratchet up the action and story, but maintain the irreverence, this could be a classic.
Judging by this trailer, it looks like he’s at least managed to keep Hit Girl as fun as she was the first time around. So fingers crossed.
The sequel stars Moretz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jim Carrey, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, John Leguizamo, Clark Duke and Lyndsy Fonseca. Kick-Ass 2 opens Aug. 16.

Do you think the sequel can match the sheer fun of the original?
