This hilarious animated short film about a rock monster should be Pixar’s next movie

What happens when a rock monster accidentally sends a city-crushing boulder toward a tiny village? This, and it’s freaking adorable.

Dubbed A Tale of Momentum and Inertia, this amusingly clever little 1+ minute CGI short film was developed by House Special and packs a fantastic punch in such a short amount of time. The short was directed by Kameron Gates with creative director Kirk Kelley, and we absolutely love the simple yet elegant visual style.

Once you get through the little morality tale, this short reminds us of an (admittedly darker) spin on the types of witty shorts Pixar can produce when the company is at its best. It’ll make you think about perception, reaction and how we all fit in the world. Not bad for a 1+ minute clip about a big rock monster.
