Awesome news, everyone! It seems Ron Moore may be rekindling his love affair with Syfy. Rumor has it the network is finalizing a deal for a 13-episode series order on a dark thriller called Helix.

Moore and Syfy have somewhat been bed-buddies ever since they worked together on both the hugely successful rebooted Battlestar Galactica series and its prequel, Caprica.

So, what's Helix about? According to Deadline, it's about "a team of scientists investigating a possible disease outbreak at an Arctic research facility who find themselves trying to protect the world from annihilation."

The network is apparently ready to order a full-fledged 13-episode series and would skip the traditional let's-make-the-pilot-and-then-we'll-see format if they like it. Helix is from Sony Pictures TV, where Ron Moore is under an overall deal. If indeed picked up by Syfy, Moore's new project would debut later this year.

Are you guys excited about Ron Moore's Helix?
