D23 Expo Japan is in full swing, and the announcements just keep coming. After revealing new attractions at Disney parks in Florida, California, and Tokyo, Disney announced plans to build a new interactive ride based on Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp at Hong Kong Disneyland.
Ant-Man and The Wasp will be a ride-through attraction like Hong Kong Disneyland's current Iron Man Experience, and is part of the expansion to create an all-Marvel section of the park by 2023.
Riders will fight alongside Ant-Man and The Wasp as they take on Arnim Zola and an army of Hydra swarm bots. If you're wondering what form that may take, the ride will replace the current Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, and riders will receive similar laser-powered weapons with which to shoot enemies. Hopefully, they'll offer a picture and scorecard at the end, as well. You know that's always the best part of the ride.
No word on whether there will be height restrictions.
In addition to the Marvel area, Hong Kong Disneyland is doing a renovation of Sleeping Beauty's castle to include in daytime and nighttime shows, and they're building a Frozen-themed area, which includes new attractions, entertainment, and meetings with both Elsa and Anna.
In other words, there's going to be plenty to do when you visit.
