It's October, which means we've got horror on the brains. And apparently so do the horror filmmakers of the world because a gaggle of sure to be terrifying films have found their stars.
Paramount's upcoming film Eli just cast its Eli. Charlie Shotwell (Captain Fantastic) will star in the upcoming psychological horror film directed by Ciaran Foy (Sinister 2) which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "tells the story of a secluded clinic where a boy with a rare disease is being treated. Soon, the clinic becomes a haunted prison with no way out." The film is currently set to hit theaters January 4, 2019.
And because kids are never not creepy in horror films, New Line Cinema's upcoming film The Children from horror producer James Wan (The Conjuring) has found its two leads. Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen (Self/Less) and Roman Christou will star in the film about "a social worker who, while investigating the mysterious disappearance of two children, discovers her own family might be in jeopardy." Also starring in the film are Linda Cardellini (ER, Bloodline), Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy), and Sean Patrick Thomas (Save the Last Dance, The Fountain).
Speaking of families, Luke Jaden aptly-titled horror film BOO! just added a slew of names to the project. According to Deadline, joining the cast are Aurora Perrineau (Jem and the Holograms), Jill Marie Jones (Ash Vs. Evil Dead), Charley Palmer Rothwell (Dunkirk), Dwight Henry (Beasts Of The Southern Wild), Rob Zabrecky (Criminal Minds), and Jaden Piner (Moonlight). BOO! is about "a family that battles an unseen force as they soon realize they must band together in order to stop the unimaginable terror."
Looks like we'll have horror films for plenty of Octobers to come.
