Wanna become a stormtrooper without spending hundreds on top-of-the-line replica armor?
Crafty blogger Lindsey, who spends a lot of time turning trash into treasure over at Filth Wizardry, came up with this low-budget stormtrooper costume idea a while back when her daughters got really into Star Wars. It starts with two gallon-sized milk jugs and a little clever carving until you've got three distinct pieces that will form the basic shape of the helmet. From there, a little hot glue binds the pieces together, and then a clever paint job finishes things off. Using very few tools and her own crafty brilliance, Lindsey managed to turn this:
Pretty cool, huh? Sure, it's not the gleaming armor of the 501st Legion, but it'll definitely do in a pinch, and it's perfect for kids. If you want to make your own milk-jug stormtrooper helmet, head over to Filth Wizardry for step-by-step instructions.
