Mark Ruffalo is looking to raise some money for one of his favorite charities, and he’s set one heck of a geek-tastic top prize.
The actor, who plays Bruce Banner/The Hulk in Marvel’s The Avengers, is sponsoring a contest for a chance to win a set visit to The Avengers: Age of Ultron in an effort to raise money for the clean water initiative Water Defense.
It’s a cool cause, and Ruffalo’s support has brought a boatload of attention. How much, exactly? More than $106,000, with a couple of days left in the contest. The minimum donation is $5, and one lucky contributor will win a flight to the U.K. for two, along with a set visit to Age of Ultron to hang with Ruffalo and the cast and crew.
Ruffalo has, of course, approved the deal with the higher-ups at Marvel Studios and Disney. The trip will reportedly happen at some point in mid-July, which makes sense, since shooting is starting to wind down at this point on the way to the sequel’s May 1, 2015, opening date.
Yeah, count us in. Because it's a good cause. Yeah, that’s the only reason …
