How to make a radio-controlled Dalek pumpkin

We've seen enough Doctor Who to know that Daleks are pretty scary. But we have a Dalek here, constructed by do-it-yourselfer "Wendell," that's a little less ominous than most: Instead of metallic armor and a sensory array, it's built out of pumpkin. But wait ... it gets better.

Wendell didn't use the traditional Kaled to power the Dalek shell. Instead, he outfitted the pumpkin with wheels, a servo motor and a remote control. So this particular Dalek might not look the part of universe-threatening alien ... but it moves as if it could exterminate you.

Wendell posted a guide on how to "pimp your Dalek" (appropriately enough, on the site Evil Mad Scientist), so others with a fascination for sci-fi and orange root vegetables can have a go at it themselves. There's also a clip of the end result, below.

If you're ever in the mood to impress your Whovian friends or freak out small pets, there's no time like the present. The time-traveling Doctor would agree.
