Following last night's Super Bowl TV spot, 20th Century Fox has unveiled the very first clip from Logan — and you can have a look at both right here.
Directed by James Mangold, the R-rated Wolverine sequel sees the return of Hugh Jackman as the Adamantium-clawed mutant for (allegedly) the final time and Sir Patrick Stewart as an aging Charles Xavier.
Logan takes place in 2029 in a world where mutants are a dying breed due to a virus. The movie, based on Marvel Comics' Old Man Logan storyline, will see the introduction of Dafne Keen as X-23, Stephen Merchant as Caliban, Boyd Holbrook as Donald Pierce (the leader of a team of villainous, mutant-hating cyborgs called the Reavers) and Richard E. Grant as big bad villain Dr. Zander Rice, creator of X-23.
In the clip below, Logan may be out of the superhero game but the superhero is not out of Logan as he stands up to a group of men intent on expelling Eriq Lasalle's (ER) character from the land where they work. There's nothing action-packed about the clip, but seeing our Canadian mutant break the dude's rifle on his knee was pretty sweet (and satisfying). As for that dramatic Super Bowl spot, it's set to "Amazing Grace," kicking us right in the feels.
Logan opens on March 3.
