Hugh Jackman teases final Wolverine film, asks fans for story ideas

It’s hard to believe, but Hugh Jackman has been playing the character of Wolverine for nearly two decades — and he probably looks better now than he did when the whole thing started. But all good things must come to an end.

We already knew Jackman and The Wolverine director James Mangold were reuniting for a final spinoff film, and now Jackman has dropped a cheeky note to fans promising “One Last Time” that he’ll sport the adamantium claws. Always the crowd pleaser, Jackman is even asking fans for their own plot ideas in the comments section.

Speculation has run rampant in regard to what story Mangold will tell in Jackman’s swan song, with the actor adding fuel to the fire at San Diego Comic-Con with a throwaway line about the “Old Man Logan” comic arc. We doubt they’d go for a straight-up adaptation of that story (or any comic story, for that matter), though the creative team will likely pull some inspiration from the comic canon. That’s been the status quo for most of Fox’s X-Men films, and it’s worked relatively well (for the most part).

Check out Jackman’s post below and let us know what story you’d like to see:
