They tried to put Deadpool in a movie once. Hugh Jackman thinks that experiment ought to be repeated.
I'm not sure I'd call Wolverine: Origins the worst X-Men movie ever made, but it is certainly the most forgettable. In fact, the only thing people seem to remember is just how completely wrong its adaptation of Deadpool was.
Which will have fans no doubt of two minds on Jackman's desire to face off against Deadpool again. While on his parade of Days of Future Past interviews, Jackman talked about the idea of revisiting the Merc with a mouth, saying, "We sort of took a pretty strong choice on Deadpool, where we kind of stitched him up. And I love the character of Deadpool and I think that the sort of badass, fast-talking, funny, annoying Deadpool vs Wolverine would still be cool. We’ve sort of done it, but I think we could have done that much better."
As for the Deadpool stand-alone movie whose script has been shopped around forever, Jackman thinks that "it makes sense for that character to be around." Of course, the trick there continues to be that a Deadpool movie kind of needs to be R-rated, and we don't really make comic-book movies like that anymore.
Well, what do you think? There's another Wolverine movie coming in the distant future. Should Deadpool be in it? Or should he keep to breaking the fourth wall in comic form only?
