Every month, SYFY WIRE will be bringing you the solicitations for all the upcoming comic books you need to know about. Today we have IDW Publishing’s listings for December 2017, including all of its graphic novel collections and single-issue comics.

Comics and collections of note from the San Diego publisher this month include:

• The second creator-owned Black Crown title, Assassinistas comes out and is written by Tini Howard and drawn by indie legend Gilbert Hernandez. We've got an interview with Howard, Hernandez, and editor Shelly Bond here in case you want to know more about it.
• Fifteen years after the original mini-series came out, 30 Days of Night is getting modernized with a new take by Steven Niles, who is teaming up with Piotr Kowalski on interiors with original series artist Ben Templesmith and Ashley Wood doing covers.
• Eric Powell (The Good, Hillbilly) completists will want to check out a new presentation of Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn because it has 21 new illustrations by Powell.
• IDW collects the latest horror tale, Four Women, from Sam Keith, creator of The Maxx.
• For comic book historians, there is a terrific hardcover book, We Spoke Out: Comic Books and the Holocaust, that interviews many of the comic book creators such as Neal Adams, Stan Lee, and Joe Kubert, who were teaching the events of the Holocaust through comics before it was universally taught in school. The book also features Holocaust scholar Rafael Medoff and comics historian Craig Yoe.
• Finally, the Hasbro Comic Book Shared Universe expands to include the Transformers vs. Visionaries

Check out all these listings and more below, and then let us know what comics are making it onto your pull list in the comments!

Dominic Prince and the Semester Abroad, Part 1 of 6. Dominic Price is a college-age kid who just wants to spend the semester making out with his boyfriend, Taylor, in between rounds of TurboLight Fighter and maintaining a solidly passable 3.2 GPA. His mom, Octavia, formerly a badass action-movie-quality bounty hunter, didn’t pay his tuition, because she had to get back in the business and spend 40K on black market weapons and body armor. And she’s bringing Dominic with her, because the alternative is making lattes for a semester, and he’d rather die. Good thing in mom’s line of work, dying is an option.

SCREWBALL! The Cartoonists Who Made the Funnies Funny

Paul C. Tumey (w) • George Herriman, E.C. Segar, Rube Goldberg, and more (a) • Milt Gross and Friends (c)

The story of screwball comics, with new research and rare art from some of the most hilarious cartoonists of all time.

Before "screwball" became a movie genre, it was a staple of other forms of American culture, including newspaper comic strips. Emerging from the pressures of a rapidly accelerating technological and information-drenched society, screwball comics offered a healthy dose of laughter and perspective. Comics scholar Paul C. Tumey traces the development of screwball as a genre in magazine cartoons and newspaper comics, presenting the lives and work of around two dozen cartoonists, with an art-stuffed chapter on each.

Screwball! offers a wealth of previously un-reprinted comics, unleashing fresh views of some of America's greatest and most-loved cartoonists, including George Herriman (Krazy Kat), E.C. Segar (creator of Popeye), Winsor McCay (Dreams of the Rarebit Fiend), Rube Goldberg (The Inventions of Professor Lucifer G. Butts, A.K.) and Bill Holman (Smokey Stover). In addition, readers will be delighted to discover previously "lost" screwball masters including Gene Ahern (The Squirrel Cage), Gus Mager (Sherlocko the Monk), Milt Gross (Count Screwloose), George Swanson ($alesman $am) and many others.
