Whether you loved or hated Transformers: Dark of the Moon—and some seemed to be unable to make up their minds—one thing seemed certain: You wanted to see it to judge for yourselves.

Transformers 3 set a new July 4th weekend record (sorry, Spider-Man 2!) by taking in $97.5M from Friday to Sunday, a gross that rises to $116.4M when you add in the holiday Monday. And if you count everything the movie's earned since it previewed last Tuesday night, that rises to $181.1M domestically. Count the $217.9M it picked up internationally, and Michael Bay's got to be a VERY happy guy—because Transformers 3 has brought in a total of $399M so far.

Here's how the North American weekend looked:

1. Transformers: Dark of the Moon, $116.4M

2. Cars 2, $32.1M

3. Bad Teacher, $17.6M

4. Larry Crowne, $15.7M

5. Super 8, $9.5M

6. Monte Carlo, $8.8M

7. Green Lantern, $7.9M

8. Mr. Popper's Penguins, $6.9M

9. Bridesmaids, $4.2M

10. Midnight in Paris, $4.3M

Did you go see Transformers: Dark of the Moon this weekend? If so, what did you think of it?
