Enter the Sith Lord's lair in Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series

What’s more terrifying than an invite to Dracula’s castle? Darth Vader personally inviting you to his own lair on Mustafar, of course.

Seems like Vader’s sanctum is the hot spot for terror this Halloween season. First IDW announced the release of Tales From Vader’s Castle at San Diego Comic-Con, and now that castle and its Dark Lord are coming to life in an epic virtual reality experience: Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series. ILMxLAB first teased the idea several years ago, but now the doors have opened and there’s no turning back.

Vader Immortal will be playable on Facebook’s upcoming standalone Oculus Quest VR headset (for which you might need to access that $400 you had locked in a space vault far, far away) and will be an immersive three-part quest produced in collaboration with David S. Goyer. You know this is going to be awesome when the screenwriter of the Blade trilogy, Batman Begins, the Dark Knight saga, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and games like Black Ops I and II and Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire is behind it.

Check out the official trailer below...

At some point in time between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, you will enter the dark realm as a nameless hero, hurtled through hyperspace and landing somewhere among the oozing lava rivers of Mustafar. Don’t think Vader invited you randomly, either. Nothing the Dark Lord does is ever random.

It’s almost as if the Dark Lord actually wants you to be there, though there is no way in this galaxy or the next that it could possible be for a cup of coffee. As you can see in the trailer, Vader addresses you as if he knows something you don’t — which he obviously does — and you might need a lightsaber for what lies ahead in the shadows, if the clash of green and red plasma at the end is any indication. Perhaps your character could also be an unsung Jedi?

The first episode of Vader Immortal will be invading Oculus Quest in 2019.
