The first official poster for Alien: Covenant has dropped, revealing that the Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel will hit movie theaters three months earlier than expected.

What better way to announce that 20th Century Fox's upcoming horror/sci-fi movie has moved from its Aug. 4, 2017, release date to May 19, than with a poster featuring everyone’s favorite deadly alien, the Xenormorph? What is really effective about the poster below is how very simple it is, with the Xenomorph’s face pearing out from the darkness surrounding it, with only the words “Run” and “May 19” stamped on the one-sheet. Yup, you can bet your sweet @$s I'd run like hell. Check it out below, and let us know what you think.

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup, with Noomi Rapace returning as Elizabeth Shaw and Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland.
