We’ve been wondering exactly how The CW’s Flash series would imagine Golden Age Flash Jay Garrick, and now we have our first peek at the live-action version.
Last we’d heard, Teddy Sears joined the hit superhero series as the alternate-universe version of the scarlet speedster. Now, in classic comic-book fashion, the network has debuted a first look at Sears in costume. The network is showing off a pulpy new shot that is a direct homage to the iconic cover of The Flash of Both Worlds!, only with the live-action Barry Allen and Jay Garrick.
We already glimpsed Garrick’s winged helmet coming out of the time portal in the Season 1 finale, and the rest of the costume seems like a simple take on the comic version. Understated, but it seems to work. Heck, if anything, it looks a lot less silly than Barry Allen’s body suit. Sears’ version of Garrick will arrive in Central City in Season 2, warning Barry and Team Flash of a massive new threat. There are also rumblings he might take on the mentor void left behind by Dr. Harrison Wells.
Season 2 of The Flash debuts Oct. 6 on The CW.
