Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns is the single reason I became a comic-book fiend, and learning that his grand opus would be given a third and final act was sweet music to my ears. Written by Frank Miller and Dave Azzarello, with art by Andy Kubert and Klaus Janson, the 8-issue The Dark Knight III: The Master Race is due out Nov. 25, 2015, and will fly in with a fantastic flock of variant covers by Miller, Kubert, Janson, Jim Lee and Dave Johnson. No word yet on any story details, but if it's any improvement on Miller's tepid 2001's sequel, The Dark Knight Strikes Again, I'll be pleasantly pleased.
Check out this first variant released by DC, with art by Dave Johnson and based on a Jim Lee sketch, with Batman and the Joker's bullet-marked corpse baptized by a brutal hail of rain. Have a look and tell us if you're down with DK3 when it strikes comic shops later this fall.
