Last weekend's supermoon presented Earthlings with a rare look at the full moon at its closest point to our planet in the past 69 years. But the crew of the International Space Station got an even closer look at a second supermoon back on October 16th when they made an amazing journey across the pale shining face of our beloved satellite, looking strangely like a squadron of TIE fighters out to hunt down some pesky rebel scum.

Thanks to avid astro-photographer Kris Smith for this illuminating lunar transit composite shot!
