Image of the day: Inventive Ant-Man cosplay expands to five people

In the 2015 film Ant-Man, former thief Scott Lang didn't maximize his potential so much as minimize it. Any cosplayer can throw on Scott’s red-and-black super shrinking suit and call it a day. But it takes five cosplayers to show Ant-Man at his most antastic.

BoingBoing posted this photo, showing five Ant-Man of varying sizes, each in the same pose. Because they stand in order of smallest to largest (or vice versa), it gives the illusion that we’re seeing Ant-Man the moment he’s transforming ...

... And whether or not you’re seeing Ant-Man go from smaller to larger, or the other way around, is up to you — and your culture. For example, the Japanese read from right to left and are more likely to perceive this as shrinking.

It’s the most ant-based fun we’re going to have until Ant-Man and The Wasp. Which won’t be hitting theaters until, egads, July 6, 2018.
