Image of the Day: A long time ago, in a...Japanese rice paddy

You find the most amazing things in crops. Like crops. And children. And crop circles not created by aliens. And if you’re in Japan, carved into a rice field you can find awesome Star Wars art. 

Japanese YouTuber Juzji posted this clip, from which we have captured an image. He wrote that he came across this Star Wars art in a rice field in the village of Inakadate in Aomori prefecture.

According to the Aomori sightseeing guide, “The rice paddy art uses various colored rice plants as paint on a rice-field canvas. The massive pictures are elaborately designed using perspective drawing methods to make them look their best when seen from the observation platform.” 

Plus, it’s the closest thing to seeing BB-8 on a big screen until Dec. 18, 2015.
