Deadpool has a fabulous superhuman ability: He can heal at an accelerated rate, to the extent that he can grow back a new head. But this superhuman power has an Achilles heel in that it’s rendered him mentally unstable. But just because he's crazy, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want a friend.
In a tweet by star Ryan Reynolds, we see Deadpool with his unimpressed companion, Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand). He’s also tweeted the hashtag “#tryingtoconnect.”
So, how is Deadpool trying to connect with a teenage girl? By reading Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret, by Judy Blume, one of the most realistic books ever written about growing up girly. It’s almost touching to think that Deadpool would want to learn more about his female friend ...
... except that Are You There, God? is written for 12-year-olds. Negasonic, a precognitive mutant, looks like a much older teen. No wonder she looks pissy. Deadpool is trying to understand her wrong.
We’ll be meeting the merc with a mouth on Feb. 12, 2016, five months from now.
