Director Taika Waititi has recently unveiled a picture on his Instagram feed which could hint at Korg’s return in Thor: Ragnarok.

If the name doesn't ring a bell, Korg was the big whopping rock creature we saw Thor (Chris Hemsworth) pretty much crush to smithereens in Thor: The Dark World, when our Mighty God of Thunder fought the Marauders at the Battle of the Vanaheim. See Exhibit A Below (Big. Whopping. Rock. Creature.)

Created by Greg Pak and Carlo Pagulayan, the creature was introduced as Korg in the pages of The Incredible Hulk #93 during the insanely popular Planet Hulk storyline back in 2006, where he played a major role alongside the Jade Giant -- before it was revealed he was an alien Thor had fought way back when in 1963, in issue #83 of Journey Into Mystery.

Since Thor’s third solo outing will loosely adapt the Planet Hulk storyline, with Thor and Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) having to duke it out in the Grandmaster’s (played by Jeff Goldblum) gladiatorial arena, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see Korg make his rocky return in the comic book movie. Even though he was turned into a pile of rocks.

Thor: Ragnarok will open in theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
